Beta Blogger

Well, I think I managed to switch to beta blogger tonight. I think some of the other templates are pretty cool, so I may swap around once in awhile!

Before switching, I was having problems leaving comments on other blogs that had already gone beta. Some advice that others gave me was to choose the "Anonymous" option to leave comments. This does work - but please remember to leave your blog or screen name in your comment, since it won't appear if you post comments anonymously.

Meanwhile, If anyone has any idea how to change the column size, please share! I'd like to make the column on left, with blog lists, less wide and make the "story" side wider.

Addendum: Some things I like better about beta are easier template changes, easier to add blogroll links, easier to change font/colors and when someone comments and it shoots you a notification email it has that blogger's link right in the email. You can click and go straight to their blog with out having to go to your own comments to click on their link there.

I have switched to Beta, but for some reason my blog didn't transfer over. hopefully it will soon.

Well Dave, you were able to comment here, so that's a good sign!

Sunflower, good for you! I'm glad you made the transition successfully.

And, Davem, that was my worst fear before I switched. Beta reminds me of a bouncer at a hot New York City nightclub, capriciously selecting who gets in and who doesn't on any given day.

So Sunflower, you've sold out and gone Beta -
I guess we'll all have to soon

Haven't looked at it so can't say about the margin - but has it made the text larger too, or was your blogger font just the same?

not so much anon as incognito - lol!

It was strange, Velvet - I had the "switch to beta" link, which I ignored for weeks. Then I stopped being able to comment on beta blogs, so I finally decided to switch - but the link disappeared! It finally came back and I jumped ship. It all worked out. The word verification is giving me heartburn, though - I have to redo several times for it to "take."

Hi Quasar, glad you could comment - yes "resistance is futile," LOL. The font is larger, but I made it so. I couldn't read the tiny bitty font size they originally had for that template and making changes is pretty straightforward - no html required. Just wish I could scoot that margin over to the left a bit.

Hi Sunflower,
I find you particularly interesting, this latest revelation just makes you even more fascinating - irresistible. I must make a point to coming to visit and see, if you'll invite me. lol!
Priceless indeed a little girl reaching for a star, no chance I guess of a photo or a peek?

Can comment - Shall comment - I DID

Alas, poor Quasar, I'm neither fascinating nor interesting, LOL.

I will take a photo of the drawing, which was done in a book about Dali and try to post - although I'm afraid probably not until after Christmas - it's crunch time here! Had dear hubby's birthday today, so now can finally start thinking about holiday preparations.

Glad you could post! I've been having problems with having to repeat the verification many times before it is accepted.

Welcome to the "new world". I am afraid to do more than just transfer over my blog! It only took nine months to figure out how to post other folks blogs on mine, I am not sure I am ready for anything else!
