Can you see them? Just short stems, right now, but in a few days they will put on a spectacular show. The day I have been waiting for has finally arrived! Yes, the daffodils are coming! It is REALLY spring!
We have a wooded area on our front property and every spring, we have hundreds of daffodils that bloom. I kid you not - one season I deadheaded all the ones that were left and I counted over a thousand daffodils, including the dozens I gave away.
We never planted them. They are a gift from God every year. They are freely given to me and I, in turn, love to give them away. I give away at least thirty dozen every season and it doesn't even make a dent in what's left. These sunny yellow flowers put such a smile on everyone's face, but nowhere more than on my own. I wish I could give you each dozens!
Happy Spring - wishing you all warmth, sunshine, peace and happiness.

The deer ate ours when we lived in the UP.
What a shame Dr. John! Rumor has it we have some deer here - my husband saw two young ones several weeks ago - both quickly bounded over a fence into a nature preserve.
Thanks for the "warning," will keep an eye on my daffies.
I cant WAIT for the daffies!!
Hi Sunflower
warmth, sunshine, peace & happiness
right back at yah!
PS - Thanks for the fire rainbow!
Sunflower,
Happy spring. We have some tulips poking out of the ground. Hope they make it against the wishy washy weather...
You must post another picture when they are in bloom.
Mamalee - me too! It's been cold the past few days, so they are at a standstill. But they WILL come up and they WILL bloom!

De nada, Quasar! We could certainly use some warmth, it's been back to the 30s for us.

Dave, you know I will. Need to share the bounty, if only in pictures :-)
I love daffodils, too - because then I know that spring is really here. And I love the way they 'naturalize' and just keep coming and coming. I can't wait to get home and see mine!
Sunflower,
Happy spring to you! The view of the flowers sounds great!
Sunflower,
I just left you a commnet, imputted the wrong website. The one that I put in is not mine. Sorry. This is the correct one.
What a wonderful sight that would be!
Each year, I plant hundreds of daffodils...more and more the garden is covered with them!
And the deer here on the Island don't bother with the daffs...only thing they don't eat!
I can't wait to see them bloom!
An Easter promise from you to us - thank you for sharing. I too will be glad when it gets warm enough for them to bloom! I will be waiting for the picture!
Easter blessings to you and yours!
(P.S. There is a light green haze on the forsythia hedge in my yard - I guess I didn't kill it afterall!)
The only thing I love more than a daffodil is the hyacinths. They were all in bloom last week when I drove past the park to work. I hope these last few freezing days haven't killed them.
Happy Easter, Sunflower! To you and yours. Now...have I missed something? Do we have a lightbulb yet!?!?!?!?!?
